Mongolian Beef

Mmmmmmmm I found this one in Pinterest, worth a trial & mmmmmmm one scrummy trial

This needs a side of stir fried vegetables or something, but it is delicious. Takes next to no time to cook, in fact it was ready before the rice!

  • 1 lb Flank or Sirloin Steak – thinly sliced crosswise
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp Canola Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Grated Ginger
  • 3 cloves Garlic – minced
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce – (check gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • Spring Onions – for garnish

Pat the meat dry with a paper towel

Put the cornstarch in a ziploc bag along with the steak & toss to coat

Heat a wok on medium high heat with the oil. Cook the beef, stirring for 3 minutes

Combine ginger, garlic, water, soy sauce, brown sugar & red pepper flakes in a bowl

Pour sauce into wok with the meat & allow it to thicken. Remove from heat when desired thickness is achieved

Serve over rice & garnish with chopped spring onions
