Shepherds Pie

Technically shepherds pie should be made with lamb or mutton, so in theory this is a cottage pie! It is the best tasting shepherds pie I have ever made, so moist & flavourful

  • 1 lb Minced Beef
  • 3 cups Mixed Vegetables – or as desired
  • 3 tbsp Gravy Powder (check gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 1/2 cups Water
  • 4 Potatoes – cooked & mashed

Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C/Gas Mark 4. In a large, high sided skillet dry fry the beef over a medium heat until cooked. Do not drain

Add water, gravy powder & vegetables. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes

Thicken gravy to your desired thickness using a flour & water mixture. Season with salt & pepper

Put the meat & vegetable mixture into an oven proof dish & top with the mashed potato

Cook in oven for 30 minutes to brown the top of the potato
