Sloppy Joes

This is a classic dish, but tastes so much better homemade. This recipe is the perfect medium being not too sweet, but also not overly ketchupy either (if that is a word!) Also it is perfect for a night like Halloween where things are pretty busy

  • 1 lb Minced Beef
  • 1 Onion – diced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper – diced
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Prepared Yellow Mustard
  • 3/4 cup Ketchup
  • 3 tbsp Brown Sugar – packed

In a large skillet on a medium heat dry fry the beef, onion & pepper, until the beef is cooked

Drain away the fat & add the remaining ingredients

Reduce the heat & simmer for 30 minutes. Or, my personal favourite, put in a slow cooker on a low heat for an hour or two
